Praised by WNYC and Downbeat and counted amongst the best releases of 2025 by PopMatters and Nate Chinen, Canopy presents a radical departure from the contemporary Jazz and avant-garde backdrops that have established Lex Korten's reputation as a formidable pianist.
The resulting category-defying work presents a rich sound world that relies on fearless improvising, post-production and a novel writing style meant to distribute agency towards each of the band's 5 members while retaining a strong, evocative core within each song.
